About Us & Our History

Dry Harbour Marine was purchased in 1997 by its current owners, Barney Way and Scott Boss—lifelong friends who were both born and raised in Charlevoix. After high school, Barney stayed local, working alongside his father and eventually owning a garbage service company, while Scott moved away to pursue a career in sales and fundraising. Years later, Scott returned to Charlevoix, and with Barney having sold his business, the two began looking for a new venture. When the opportunity arose to purchase the established Dry Harbour Motor Sports, they jumped at the chance.

Originally, the business sold both boats and snowmobiles, but around 2008, they transitioned to focus solely on boats, rebranding as Dry Harbour Marine. Nearly 30 years later, Barney and Scott remain at the heart of the company, actively involved in daily operations and continuing to grow the business alongside a dedicated team of nearly 30 employees.

Over the years, Dry Harbour Marine has expanded its storage capacity, boat-moving capabilities, and service offerings, operating fleets of trucks and trailers to provide seamless boat transportation. Today, we proudly represent five premier brands—Formula, Everglades, Robalo, Avalon, and Highfield—offering our customers an unmatched boating experience.

Many of our customers call Lake Charlevoix their summer home, and we provide a full concierge service, including hauling, launching, and delivering boats directly to their docks, ensuring a stress-free experience. As a one-stop shop for all marine needs, we prioritize loyalty, customer relationships, and superior service. From meticulous maintenance to expert detailing, our team goes above and beyond to exceed expectations and keep our customers on the water, enjoying the boating lifestyle to the fullest.
